Keto and Lifestyle....

SO here we are, in the world where everything around us when it comes to nutrition has carbs..... processed card.... no wonder is so difficult to lose weight and/or maintain the weight achieved.....

But we have to live a little, right?


WE MUST ENJOY OUR KETO LIFESTYLE.
This is so important! Being able to find "that" formula that works for us, in the daily basis to be able to find a long lasting happiness... that is BALANCE!

Keto can be a difficult lifestyle IF we do not trust the process or have patience, we need to figure out how to maintain faith and believe that d we will be able to adjust and enjoy.

One of my biggest struggles trying to get where I am today was adjusting to my "social" life or my love for wine. Being a Sommelier and Wine lover created obstacles while getting into this lifestyle but I got a formula going now and gives me balance and I am hoping this works for you too. If you like wine like me this can help you, lots!
Let me explain carbs and alcohol first.


Light beers and wines have 6 to 20 grams of net carbs, hard liquor has 0 grams of carbs BUT still can stall your weight loss.
So because the intake of alcohol can slow down our fitness goals we MUST be able to find moderation or we will never achieve our goals, EVER. This take planning, lots of planning.
When we are in the process of weight loss we need to be able to plan our social life and set priorities.... What I do?

Even though I know every week is not the same, I do have the intention every Sunday to plan my week, I do have a journal and a busy life so I write down my priorities for the week, for my family, my business and my friends. I make sure I know when is "wine date" and that is the day I drink my wine.... I make sure 1 day doesn't turn into 6 days like it used to be because I refused to be miserable as I was back then. Believe it or not this moderation gave me balance, gave me discipline and also gave me the amazing strength of being OK to be uncomfortable.... I absolutely love that state, you may think I am crazy but only then is when I became stronger, now in fact I am leaning towards fitness and healthier living.

Quiche..... My personal fav!

I love to make 12 to 16 of these "egg quiche" ..... I pre make them and eat them as a "broke-fast" or just snacks, even for dinner.... they taste amazing!


What do you need for 10 quiche?

A muffin tin (mine is 10)
5 eggs
1 cup of chopped cooked broccoli
1/4 cup of chopped onions
1/4 cup of red peppers
1 cup of mozzarella
1 cup of feta cheese
Salt
Pepper


Make sure the veggies are cooked, mix all the ingredients together and add them to 3/4 high in each space of the tin tray.

Cook them for 10 minutes at 350 degrees... make sure they don't over cook.
Eggs cook fast!!!

NEVER GIVE UP!

When mirror talks, we listen.....

OK YUP this is me in the 4 pictures.....

 

It takes lots of me to share these pictures but I want to be as honest as I can in my journey.
I took the top pics on 1/9..... It was a sad moment for me and let me tell you why:

As much as I love fitness sometimes I let go and my body follows. I do workout every single day, in that I am proud but sometimes I find myself binging like is not tomorrow and becomes a domino effect day after day...... that picture made me STOP and realize that is NOT how I want to FEEL and look. I always say, is not about HOT and BIKINIS is about feeling comfortable in our own skin.

I am feeling very very good knowing P90X3 is working for me, I absolutely love the program, works the whole body, has a very active yoga and is only 30 minutes but I know I do not the changes in my weight are made int he kitchen....what we eat and WHEN we eat is the factor that made the difference between my weight loss and over all health.

I do have a group with LIVE cooking that I form to show what I am doing in my journey to be able to lose my 30 pounds :)

Let's wake up....


For years and years we were sold that carbs are good.... that we need cereal and milk and why not cookies for breakfast....  But now we are becoming more aware, now the information is out and ONLY available to those that want to see the reality the way it is.

So now.... drums roll.......

FAT IS OUR FRIEND.

Period.

Now we are learning more and more and realizing the hidden carbs, the hidden sugars.... how to read labels ( that will be another blog)
Now we know the biggest benefits of eating healthy fats and LOW carbs:

- Increase focus
-Increase energy
- Lower sugar labels
- Reduce cravings to 0
- Say bye bye to Cholesterol
- And so many more....


The Ketogenic WOE and WOL is gaining so many fans and the reason is because of all those reasons above and the biggest reason of all is that we brake up with the relationship that we have with food that was feed by our family in the past and now that relationship is our foundation, we eat when we are hungry, when we are not, when we are sad, when we are bored, we eat when someone dies, when someone born..... you name it, WE EAT, and generally the foods we eat are artificial processed and far from REAL NUTRITIONAL FOODS.
Tomorrow I will add more info about how our metabolism reacts to all this real foods and how we can turn from sugar burners to fat burners in a matter of 24 hours.

So when we give this WOL (WAY OF LIFESTYLE) a try a whole new world opens up and it is really really beautiful, the new HOPE and BELIEVE we can achieve something we want so bad like being healthy becomes real, becomes POSSIBLE.
